The cover alloy has a large amount of hard chromium carbide particles. These particles are evenly distributed throughout the coating to form a strong microstructure. The hardness is between 58 and 62 HRC, which is determined by the thickness of the cover layer.
The main components of the pipe are C (%): 3.0 to 5.0 and Cr (%): 25 to 40. This chemical ratio results in a large amount of Cr7C3 chromium carbide hard particles. The microhardness of these particles throughout the layer (up to HV1800) will ensure an ultra-abrasive surface.
The cover layer and the substrate layer are joined by metallurgy. The overlay will penetrate the substrate by approximately 0.8 to 1.8 mm and reach 350 Mpa in our tests.
